ORIGINS OF THE "WOBBLY WHEELERS"
The "Wobbly Wheelers" were formed in 2001, by 3 Dorset based mountain bike riders. Unable to cope with the stresses and strains of day to day life, a few of us decided that we needed an escape at weekends. We thought about this for a few moments and came up with a bike riding & pub visit combination. The group has since grown into a large network of riders, who meet all year round, once a month at a pre-arranged pub car park, often in the deep dark depths of Dorset for a few hours off-roading, followed by a tipple or two in a "local".

RIDE DATES & ROUTES
Dates of all the rides for the year are given in the Ride dates section of the site. Navigate around the site by clicking on the brown "Bike icon" buttons on the left.
We get an Ordnance Survey map, plan out a route composed of bridleways farm tracks and some tarmac sections, plot the route out, using mapping software, which then provides us with a route printout containing an accurate profile ,mileage and riding time of the route. Then a few riders head off into the wilds of Dorset or Hampshire for a "recce" ride. Once we consider it a "goer" then all the riders on our distribution list receive an advance e-mail detailing assembly location & time, mileage of route and contact numbers. We always begin near to a pub, so that when we have completed a circular MBR route, we don't have too far to go for refreshment!
Occasionally we venture further afield, to riding areas in South and North Wales, Devon, Somerset and the Peak District. This provides all of us with plenty of new "technical" challenges.
INTERESTED IN COMING ALONG?
We consider ourselves to be a friendly bunch. Anybody at all is welcome to turn up on any of the rides. This is an ideal way to see parts of Dorset, Wiltshire & the Hampshire area which, maybe, up until now, you thought you had seen. Wrong! There are hundreds of miles of off-road tracks just waiting to be ridden. Membership is open to all and is free, all we ask of new members is a reasonable level of fitness, however we all started at the bottom of the "fitness scale"! A "mountain bike" style of bicycle is a distinct advantage, although one of the "wobblies" has been known to tackle some rides on a 3-speed road bike!
